A Poem For a Poem
A Poem for a Poem
By: Poisonadder
Here is a rhyme to pass the time,
A rhyme for a rhyme, that's been long since told,
A Rhyme of a Soldier,
A Rhyme of Life, A Rhyme of Death
When told foreword, it sings of Life,
When reflected upon, a lament of Death,
A sweet lie is told - or is it?
Dulce Decorum Pro Patria Mori
Sweet is the glory of dying for one's country.
Have they seen the agony?
Have they experienced the pain?
Oh, the tortures unfolded!
In front of me, a young man bleeds.
With each squirm, more ooze comes out, a thick crimson,
He clings to what little strength he has.
His curdling cries bellowed the the battle-scarred field,
